What’s the Difference between CBD Products?

What is CBD?CBD Products

CBD stands for “cannabidiol” which is one of over 100 chemical compounds found in the cannabis, or marijuana plant.

Why do people use CBD?

The most common uses we see are for sleep, pain, anxiety, depression, cancer symptoms, acne, and neurological disorders.

We have an extensive system of receptors called the Endocannibinoid System (ECS) that regulate a wide variety of systems in the body. It is believed that CBD interacts with the body’s naturally produced endocannabinoid neurotransmitters, which can influence their effects. Learn more.

How Do I Choose a CBD Product?

CBD products commonly come in oils, capsules, topicals, and edibles like gummies. Most companies also offer CBD products for pets.

It’s important to buy CBD from a reputable source. Supplements and CBD are not regulated the way prescription medications are. Therefore, you want to be sure you are purchasing from a company that carefully monitors and tracks quality.

CBD vs. THC Products

CBD and THC are both derived from the cannibas plant. However, THC is derived from a different compound that has psychotropic effects. CBD does not have psychotropic effects and will not give you that “high” feeling associated with THC.

CBD vs. CBN Products

Also derived from the cannibas plant, CBN could be considered “THC-light” with the possibility of mild psychotropic effects.

What’s the Difference between Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum CBD?

The difference is based on their cannabinoid composition. The hemp plant naturally contains over 100 different cannabinoids such as CBD, CBN, and THC. They have a synergistic effect, referred to as the “entourage effect,” working together to achieve the benefits associated with CBD use.

Full Spectrum CBD

Full spectrum CBD contains all of these cannabinoids. It also contains up to 400 plant compounds in hemp such as minerals, terpenes, flavonoids, chlorophyll, fatty acids, etc. Hemp-derived full spectrum CBD cannot legally have more than 0.3% THC in it, which is not considered enough to get you high. Because it contains the full spectrum of synergistic compounds, it is often considered the most effective.

Broad Spectrum CBD

Broad spectrum CBD oil has all of these compounds except THC. Broad spectrum CBD from a trusted source can be a great option for those who are concerned with THC use due to employment regulations.
