Plantar Fasciitis & Chiropractic

Plantar Fasciitis

The plantar fascia is located on the bottom of the feet and forms the arch of our feet.  It allows cushioning as we walk and protects the bones in our feet.  Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation and irritation of this tissue.  Plantar fascia can get very aggravated by repetitive motions such as running, jumping, or increased activity.

Many people have symptoms after sitting for a period of time or in the morning when they first stand.  They may feel a “burning” or “tearing” pain in the bottom of the feet, heels, or ankles.  They may also experience tingling or numbness in the toes.

Treatment for plantar fasciitis at Thrive Chiropractic in Minnetonka has been very successful by adjusting the bones in the bottom of the feet, ankles, and toes.  This allows the foot to stretch as needed and release pressure when repetitive motions are increased.  Massage is also done on the feet, ankles, and toes to relieve tension on muscles or tendons that have over compensated due to strains on the joints.  Click here to learn more about extremity adjustments, which is just a fancy way of saying adjustments that are not on the spine.

If you are suffering from heel or foot pain, we’ll help you get to the root of the issue.  Please call or schedule online for a consultation and examination.  Don’t just survive, THRIVE!

I look forward to taking great care of you!
