This varies by each patient. Many patients often seek chiropractic care to alleviate pain (referred to as active care). Others choose to continue with wellness care on a less frequent basis as part of their preventive care, much like regular dental cleanings. Read more about active vs. wellness care here.
Chiropractic care works much like orthodontics. Repeated visits are typically needed to retrain the bones, muscles, and ligaments into proper alignment and range of motion. At the beginning of active care, some patients see immediate results while others take longer. Maintaining consistency is key. Sticking to your individualized plan of care will help you achieve the results you want faster and keep you feeling better longer.
As with braces, the time it takes to achieve this will depend on the condition of the individual’s spine, overall health, daily activities, posture, age, and many other lifestyle factors. Often, underlying problems have been around for a long time, even before symptoms appear. Just as they take time to build up, it can take time to reverse.
We will gather information during your first visit to help develop a personalized treatment plan with your health and goals in mind. At your second visit, called a Report of Findings, your chiropractor will discuss the treatment plan and expectations with you.
We often have same day chiropractic appointments available. Please give us a call or schedule online.
